The weekend was full of great fun around the Portland area. I managed to check out Timberline Lodge up at Mount Hood, which included a peek at some of the crazy stuff they sell in the gift shop. I've stayed at The Stanley Hotel in Colorado, which was the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining, but it was nice to also see where the movie was filmed. Fortunately, it doesn't seem nearly as haunted up there. I can't make another trip at a time where I can do some hiking. Maybe even a winter trip for some snowshoeing.
After hitting up Mount Hood, I took the long way back to Portland through Hood River. I love the Hood River area because of all the great breweries. Lunch was at Full Sail, which produces Session (one of my favorite beers). I got to enjoy a great bowl of soup and a lovely beer while staring out over the gorge.
Back home, I tried to rest up a bit for the week ahead. I'm looking forward to all the crazy that this week brings. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in some good workouts. It's looking like it is going to be a scorching hot mess for the next few days, meaning outside activities will likely be limited during daylight hours. Early morning runs might have to be on my agenda.
